Three key points for selecting and using humic acid fertilizers effectively

How to select and effectively use humic acid fertilizers? Representatives from humic acid manufacturers will explain this.

Three key points for selecting and using humic acid fertilizers effectively

I. Select humic acid fertilizers based on application methods.

If used for fertigation, drip irrigation, or foliar spraying, potassium humate, ammonium humate, or potassium fulvate and ammonium fulvate are recommended.

If used as a base fertilizer, ammonium humate or nitrohumate are recommended. When applying, ensure it is buried in the soil, as ammonium humate is a product of the combination of humic acid and ammonium bicarbonate, which is easily volatilized and not recommended for fertigation or foliar spraying.

Furthermore, sodium humate should not be applied to soils with high pH (saline-alkali soil).

II. Select humic acid fertilizers based on crop preferences and growth stages.

For fruit trees, autumn fertilization focuses on phosphorus and potassium fertilizers; spring fertilization focuses on nitrogen fertilizers; bud differentiation focuses on phosphorus and potassium fertilizers; and during fruit enlargement, nitrogen, potassium, calcium, and micronutrients are required.

In addition, fertilization should be tailored to the specific needs of the crop. For example, fruit trees, solanaceous vegetables, tobacco, and sugarcane are potassium-loving crops, and potassium humate fertilizers are most effective for them.

III. Select humic acid fertilizers based on crop type and cost.

Humic acid fertilizers are categorized by nutrient type and quantity, including single-element humic acid fertilizers, compound (mixed) humic acid fertilizers, organic humic acid fertilizers, organic-inorganic compound humic acid fertilizers, and micronutrient fertilizers.
